What underground utility work does HGI perform?

We handle the full scope of underground utility work including excavation, pipe installation, connections, structures, and backfill. Utility work is typically part of a larger turnkey site work package with HGI, but we also take on utility installation as a standalone scope when the project calls for it.
Why does the installation sequence matter on a utility project?
How does HGI ensure storm drainage systems are installed correctly?
The most common failure point on a storm drainage system is grade. Pipe that isn’t installed at the correct pitch doesn’t flow properly, and inlets that aren’t set at the right elevation don’t capture surface water the way the design intended. HGI uses TOPCON machine control on all utility and grading work to hold precise grades throughout installation. That means the system gets built to spec, not approximated, and functions correctly from day one rather than requiring corrections after the site is finished.
Does HGI handle utility work on projects they didn't grade?
Yes. While much of our utility work comes as part of a full turnkey site work scope, we also take on utility installation on projects where another contractor handled or is handling the grading.
